Support Manual

Client Tools are the tools and utilities which give you true control over your account and web pages. There are a large selection of options available in the Control Panel. The package to which you subscribe determines which of the options are accessible to you.

The following list details all of the possible options you may view in the Control Panel.

On the left side of your cPanel is “General Account Information.” This contains an at-a-glance view of general statistics pertinent to your website. Here is a list of what is displayed and what it details.

Hosting Package: Shows the package title under which this account is currently set up.

Shared IP Address: Shows the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the account that is being used. This domain IP address is equivalent to the alphabetical domain name.

Subdomains: How many subdomains you currently have.

Parked Domains: How many domains are currently parked.

Addon Domains: How many Addon domains you currently have.

MySQL Databases: How many MySQL databases you have and how many you are allowed to have.

Disk Space Usage: How much disk space you are taking up with files on your account.

MySQL Disk Space: How much space is being taken up on your database.

Disk Space Available: How much disk space is left on your account.

Bandwidth (This Month): How much of your allotted bandwidth you have used up.

Email Accounts: How many email accounts you have used up. This is tied to your hosting package.

Email Forwarders: How many forwarders you have set up under your account.

Auto-Responders: The amount of auto responders set up on your email account.

Mailing Lists: The number of mailing lists you are allowed to have.

Email Filters: How many email filters you have set up.

FTP Accounts: The number of FTP accounts you have set up for file transfers.

General Server Information

This contains information about the server your account is hosted on. Information on the versions of the software you are using is listed here.

 

Icon	Tool	Description
	Add-on Domains	Assign domains to point to subdirectories within your account.
	Agora Shopping Cart	A “free” open source ecommerce shopping cart software solution. Requires a CP Addon.
	Apache Handlers	Allows you to control what Apache will do with particular file types. Useful for running files that require a special service.
	Backups	Generates a backup of all files. Can be used to restore your website if something goes wrong.
	Bulletin Board	Allows users to manage forums through cpanel.
	CGI Center	Allows you to add, remove, or manage CGI scripts on your account.
	Change Language	Change the CPanel interface’s language.
	Change Password	Change your account password.
	Chat room	Able to add a chat room using html or javascript to your website.
	Cron Jobs	Allows you to run commands at any time you specify. Useful for settings schedule to delete expired accounts, receive updates on subscribers from your mailing list manager, or sending out email cources.
	Disk Space Usage	Lists all files and how much space they take up.
	Error Pages	With this tool you can create custom error pages to display when a user enters a wrong URL, an outdated URL or when the user is not authorized to access a specific directory of your web space.
	Error Log	Lists any errors by the most recent.
	Fantastico DeLuxe	Designed to make installing popular scripts easy, Fantastico allows users to add discussion forums or an online gallery with a point and click intuitive interface.
	FTP Manager	Control FTP accounts, set up anonymous access, edit welcome messages, or disconnect currently connect users.
	File Manager	Manage the files hosted on your account.
	Front Page Extensions	Allows you to publish your website using Frontpage. By default, these are usually installed.
	HotLink Protection	Prevents other websites from directly linking to files on your website, consequently saving your bandwidth. You can add exceptions to the list.
	Image Manager	Easily upload images to subdirectories through cpanel.
	Index Manager	Turn indexes on or off for a directory, thus limiting or enabling what people can see.
	IP Deny Manager	Allows you to bloc a range of IP addresses from your site. Useful for blocking spammers or unwanted individuals.
	Leech Protection	Prevents users from publicly posting passwords to a restricted area of the site. Will redirect the compromised accounts to a URL of your choice.
	Mail	Allows you to manage your mail accounts and settings including but not limited to email domain forwarding, email filtering, mailing lists, spam assassin, and web mail.
	Manage OpenPGP Keys	Add public and private GnuPG keys to your account. GnuPG is a publically available encryption tool.
	Mime Types	Tells browsers how to interpret extensions – for example, html, htm, and shtml files as html files. This is a way of handling new technologies on the market.
	MySQL Databases	Manage any MySQL Databases and users in cpanel through this tool.
	Network Tools	Allows you to find information about a domain. Useful for setting up your DNS properly.
	Parked Domains	Point or park additional domain names to your existing hosting account. Allows users to reach your website when entering the parked or pointed domain into their browsers.
	Password Protect Directories	Restrict access to particular sections of your website by requiring a username and password to those who access it through their web browser.
	PhpMyChat	An easy to install and use multi-room chat that uses php and a database like MySQL.
	Raw Access Logs	These logs contain perpetually updated data involving IP addresses, http activity, and much more data that is useful for evaluating your website.
	Raw Log Manager	Get cPanel to automatically organize your website’s log files. You can also have them be stored in public areas of your website for viewing.
	Redirects	Create a URL that users are redirected to when they view a particular page on your website.
	Scripts Library	Easily install and uninstall complex scripts that can be used on your website.
	SSL Manager	Generate SSL Certificates, signing requests, and keys for your account.
	Statistics Software Configuration	Choose what stats program you will use when viewing site statistics.
	Submit a Support Request	Send a support request to your hosting provider through cPanel.
	Subdomain	Manage your subdomains by granting ftp access or setting up redirects.
	Subdomain Stats	Provides statistical data tied to your subdomains.
	Webmail	Login to your webmail account through cPanel.
	Web/FTP Stats	View comprehensive statistics about your website. All stats are updated every 24 hours and bandwidth information is updated every 6 hours.
	Virus Scan	Use the virus scanner to look through your email and quarantine and volatile mail.
