Leech Protection

The leech protection is used to prevent unwanted users from accessing your private files. Say, for instance, that you give out a username and password to a friend to access restricted files on your website. If that username and password is taken by another untrustworthy person, leeching will prevent that person from gaining unauthorized access.

This is accomplished by restricting the amount of logins that can occur within a 2-hour time limit. If more than the prescribed logins occur, it is assume that the security of the site has been compromised and access is restricted when using that specific username or password.

To enable leech protection follow the steps below.

1.Click on the folder you wish to protect.

2. There are several options. Specify the number of logins allowed in a 2 hour period in the first box.

3. If the 2 hour access limit is breached, specify the URL that the user is redirected to on your site.

4. In the event of a security breach, choose the email that is notified.

5. Finally, you have the option of disabling the compromised account or letting it continue to access the private files.
