SSL Manager
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a technology that provides protection for you and your customers by encrypting sensitive information during online transactions. Each SSL certificate contains unique information about the owner and verifies the identity of the certificate owner when it is issued. This is a means of verifying the reliability of your website and protecting information such as credit card numbers and bank accounts when you’re customers purchase goods from your website.
Most people have seen SSL protection in the form of a lock at the bottom of their browser window. Certification instills confidence in your consumers by verifying the domain name, issue, and the existence of your business.
The SSL Manager in cPanel will allow you to generate SSL certificates, signing requests, and keys. Before accessing any of these options, you must purchase a certificate from a company such as VeriSign: http://www.verisign.com/ssl/index.html
VeriSign offers several plans at varying costs – the following numbers are for a two year plan.
